A Wonderful Dream

That spark, that moment,
That pounding heart.
My breath is taken from me.
I cannot believe this is real,
It feels like a wonderful dream.

Forget all the pain and sorrow,
Forget all the hardship and hurt.
My heart is whole once more.
This life has lost all reality,
It feels like a wonderful dream.

This moment came from nowhere,
Like lightning in a blue sky.
My stomach is jumping again.
All sense in this world is lost,
It feels like a wonderful dream.

I hold on now, so tight,
For fear of losing this moment.
All I can think of is you.
I cannot believe this is real,
It feels like a wonderful dream.

Poetry

With a Wink and a Smile

With a wink and a smile you had me,
A certainty this is pure, and true.
Where is the pain and the heartache,
That my heart has so long waded through?

Can this be the life I’ve dreamed of?
Can you be the one mate of my soul?
Can this be the life I’ve dreamed of?
When my heart comes together, so whole.

Questions, answers, problems and solutions,
Seem trivial as I get lost in your eyes.
And though I could never have foreseen your coming,
Somehow it is no surprise.

With a wink and a smile you had me,
A certainty this is pure, and true.
Yet if I feel so certain,
Then why do I still wonder, do you?

The Magic and the Beauty

The world before me alight
With such a yellow twinge.
No imaginable level of brightness
Does it any justice at all.

I sit and I stare
And I allow it engulf me.
For this moment nothing
Can corrupt its perfection.

There is nothing else
But beauty and magic.
Only clarity in this time
As I bathe in the glory.

The colours which surround me
Open my eyes to my blindness.
I have missed so much
In my digressions past.

Come share this with me
As I deserve it not.
It belongs to us all
So let us not waste a drop.

Dusk

Dusk is a time of beauty,
Full of intrigue, potential, and grey.
Dusk is a time of beauty,
It’s a wondrous time of day.

Dusk is a time of beauty,
Full of unanswered questions, and problems.
Dusk is a time of beauty,
Day and night in conflict.

Dusk is a time of beauty,
Full of you, and me, and love.
Dusk is a time of beauty,
As we stare at the sky above.

Dusk is a time of beauty,
So won’t you join me, and adore it.

Back from the Brink

Blinded by all the lights, my eyes
Adjust to city life.
For so long in the shadows,
Twenty-four hours of night.

It took the intervention of an angel,
For me to pull myself up.
She came, she went, I came again,
My slump it has come unstuck.

The new world comes into focus,
As if I’ve come back to life.
The rebirth has come not a moment too soon,
I had almost drifted out of sight.

But here I am, my eyes
Open wide and clear.
And now I may be up to the challenge,
For in truth I have nothing to fear.

Let Hope Not Expire

So many moments gone,
Wasted in self-deprication.
Time I cannot retrieve
Shall haunt me until the end.

Regret this I must,
But linger on it I shan’t.
For I cannot bear to miss
Another beautiful second.

Time makes fools of all,
Trapped in self-righteous grandeur.
Now is the time for change
And live not just exist.

Snatch hope with both hands,
Lest it escapes forever.

Poetry

Life Eternal

With every step we walk together,
Our paths aligned; side-by-side.
Forever connected through blood, and love,
In our hearts forever alive.

With every thought we dream together,
Transfixed by a world less cruel.
And though your presence is no more,
Your soul can never diminish.

With every breath we breathe together,
Our hearts beat forever as one.

Poetry

Here and There

Effortlessly she glides, here and there,
She moves as if lighter than the air.
Spellbound I cannot take my eyes away

From the beauty, and the sheer purity

Which eminates from her every pore.

I long for her to see, to notice, to engage,
Yet nothing but grace surrounds her.

She could stumble, and fall, and still

She would be mesmeric in the way
She carries herself, here and there.

Why, oh why must she surround my
Every waking thought. My dreams, my nightmares,

All engorged in my lust for her exquisite form.

The way the sun illuminates her skin,
Her beauty reflected, here and there.

And Everywhere. She is everything, yet at the
Same time she is nothing. A mere memory,

And nothing more. Oh how I love her.

Oh how I miss her. Her beauty blows me away still,
Yet it is no longer before me. Though it will

Linger always, here and there.

Love’s Epitaph

Love’s face is everywhere.
I see it in every single thing.
Every moment it transcends emotion,
And becomes a real, physical entity.

It is the smile of a mother.
It is the glint in a husband’s eyes.
Every moment it manifests itself,
In the inspiring brilliance of humanity.

But then there is heartache.
And then there is you.
Every moment the memory of your love,
Haunts my heart and soul.

Love’s face is everywhere.
I cannot escape its grasp.
Every moment its power engulfs me,
And I drown in a sea of despair.

Love’s face is everywhere.

Stuck Eternally On You

Your scent is everywhere.
Haunting my every step,
The sorrow is kept on the surface.
All that is beautiful, and fair,
My mind connects with all
Which is evident in you.

 My thoughts rarely wander far,
From all I know of you.
Love, care, purity at heart,
Intrinsic in all you do.
So how will I progress from here?
Ideas, not even a few.
So where will I progress from here?
I have not even a clue.

Who Knows

Smile. Just for a moment.
Don’t be so closed off. Don’t be so you.
Open your heart to the world
And who knows the joys you can find.

Cry. Just for a moment.
Don’t bottle it all up. Expose it.
Let loose your fears and who knows,
You might even learn to laugh.

Smile. Just for a moment.
Don’t carry the weight of the world. Relinquish it.
Tell a stranger your biggest secret
And who knows what freedom you’ll find.

Cry. Just for a moment.
Don’t regret your mistakes. Embrace them.
For even if you leave, who knows,
The memories might keep me warm.

Repressed Dreams

Everything surrounds me,
In the depths, and the darkness I cower,
In fear of being found.
I would open my eyes,
If only I could dream of something,
Anything at all worth believing.
But I merely hold on,
As judgement devours talent, and dreams.
And I forget to live.

The Surge of the River

Oh watch as the woes come and go,
See the tortured souls.
Witnesses all are we to nothing,
But suffering, and pain, and greed.

Here see the pursuers of grandeur,
See the deception ooze.
I long for the flood of rebellion,
To wash it all away.

Oh watch how they feed off our dreams,
See the shattered lives.
Tears of the people will start the surge,
That shall drown the roots of evil.

Here see a world rejoice together,
See the evil writhe.
A world I dream will one day blossom,
From this seed of despicable hate.
